The Cutest Carry-on

The perfect fit. Too bad she couldn't come with Mama to New York, maybe next time!

Nice Hair

Bath time turned into the beauty shop as Charlotte experimented with a new look. She thought it was hysterical to see herself in the mirror. Maybe she's a punk baby after all, she can totally rock the 'hawk!

A Visit with Dr. Amy (18 month check-up)

For her 18-month appointment Charlotte was very excited to see Dr. Amy. She had been in a few weeks prior for a bad case of sinusitis and the thing that stood out the most was when Dr. Amy let her listen to her belly button with the stethoscope. Anytime we mentioned the doctor she would screech "Doctah Ameee" and proceed to pull up her shirt and say "but-ton."

Month 18 - Snow Bunny

We have a one and a half year old! How did that happen? It's hard to believe our little girl is now closer to 2 than 1 and that measuring in months may start to sound silly. This month we had quite a few happenings along with quite a bit of travel. We started her 18th month of life in southern California visiting family, traversing Disneyland in a torrential downpour and taking in a Sabres v. Ducks hockey game and ended it with a nice long week in Lake Tahoe, just the three of us. Charlotte was a champ through it all adjusting to each of her new environments in stride.

The Happiest Place on Earth

We succumbed... I don't even like Disney... But Charlotte LOVED it!

Month 17 - Having Fun!

This month we have had a lot of fun. Charlotte has continued progressing with her talking skills and can now combine words (as well as signs) to form complete thoughts and ideas. She also has an amazing memory which now lends itself to nice dinnertime conversations.

Everynight at dinner I ask her (well Rick) about her day, what she did, what she ate, if she napped, who she saw, etc. Usually Rick will answer for her, "Tell mama you had apples and went swimming," to which she would sign apple or swim. Now if I ask her who she played with today she will actually pause for a moment and then answer with the name of the friends she saw today, same with where she went, "Costco" or "Shop-shop" or "park." Crazy!

Month 16 - Talking up a Storm

This month Charlotte has gotten very verbal. She has perfected some three syllable words and some multi-word phrases (banana, tomato and banana yogurt) and attempts to repeat any words that she hears (yes, ANY word...).

Family Pictures 2009

In November we met with Veronica, from VandJphotography, and got our first ever official family photos taken. We met at a local public garden and despite Charlotte falling asleep as we pulled into the driveway we had a wonderful time. The pictures came out great. Thanks to the B's for sharing their prize with us!
