Submitted by Sharon on Fri, 01/29/2010 - 20:15
This month we have had a lot of fun. Charlotte has continued progressing with her talking skills and can now combine words (as well as signs) to form complete thoughts and ideas. She also has an amazing memory which now lends itself to nice dinnertime conversations.
Everynight at dinner I ask her (well Rick) about her day, what she did, what she ate, if she napped, who she saw, etc. Usually Rick will answer for her, "Tell mama you had apples and went swimming," to which she would sign apple or swim. Now if I ask her who she played with today she will actually pause for a moment and then answer with the name of the friends she saw today, same with where she went, "Costco" or "Shop-shop" or "park." Crazy!

Submitted by Sharon on Mon, 12/21/2009 - 23:29In November we met with Veronica, from VandJphotography, and got our first ever official family photos taken. We met at a local public garden and despite Charlotte falling asleep as we pulled into the driveway we had a wonderful time. The pictures came out great. Thanks to the B's for sharing their prize with us!
Month 15 - Where did it go?
Submitted by Sharon on Tue, 12/01/2009 - 19:52Wow, I have no idea where this month went. We are already in December which means this is very late. A lot must have happened, first haircut, Halloween, new kitchen, hanging out with friends... Enjoy some pictures from Charlotte's 15th month of life.
HMB Pumpkin Festival
Submitted by Sharon on Thu, 10/29/2009 - 20:42
This year we anxiously anticipated the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival. We had so much fun last year with our little pumpkin that we knew this year would be even more fun. We were lucky enough to meet up with some friends to enjoy the pumpkin pancakes, the pumpkin beer, and the giant gourds. After walking the festival we made our way to Arata's Pumpkin farm where Charlotte had a great time hunting for pumpkins. I couldn't help but look back and compare the pictures from this year with the great ones from last year. What a difference a year makes!

The "Secret Trip" & the Proposal

Sharon & I have been together for nearly 2 years now. Each time we have traveled somewhere it has been to visit family or friends. While it's always nice to see these people, you have to escape for some relaxation time alone at some point. With this in mind I told Sharon I wanted to plan a vacation for us, but I didn't want her to stress out on any of the details. I wanted to surprise her with a destination vacation. She reluctantly agreed - I think she feared I might take her to a hockey training camp in Minnesota or something.
